Your “Why”

Whitney Virginia Blocker
1 min readMay 7, 2018

sometimes in life you’ll find

that you can’t have just one more day

you’ll want to stay in bed

you’ll want to fade away

and when this happens, you’ll need your “why?”

your why is your reason for being

the things that you live for

for some it’s money, fame, or power

for others, something more

you need your why to motivate you

to carry you through when times get rough

you need it when you’re tired

and feel like giving up

your why will softly remind you

whispering in your ear

you’re enough, people need you, and you’re here for a reason

there’s no need to fear

even if you don’t feel like it

it will carry you through any season

so keep your why in the forefront of your mind

and if you don’t have one yet

find one, and to yourself — be kind
