The Games We Play Aren’t Serving Us

Why you don’t need to play games to find a great guy

Games. They seem to be so tempting to play in the beginning of a new dating relationship. They allow us to test the waters from a safe distance while still protecting ourselves. But did you ever stop to consider some of these games might be counterproductive for you?

When you meet the right guy, honestly, you won’t need to play these little games. It won’t matter if you text back in one minute or four hours for the right guy. Someone who’s really into you won’t care! They’ve already decided they like you so the games are unnecessary. Here are some of the most common games people play when they start dating someone new.

1. Acting Busy or Unavailable

There’s a lot of dating advice floating around the internet that is simply just WHACKY for a girl. One common one I see is to “act like you’re busy”. Don’t be so available, especially last minute in the early stages. For example. It’s a Tuesday and he asks you out for Wednesday. According to this modern advice, you should tell him you “have plans” as to not look too eager.

While it’s true that human nature shows scarcity breeds desire and value, I don’t think anyone could keep up with these games long term.
