I Left the City Life Behind Me
I have always been a city girl. Always! I love having lots of options of things to do. I love the hustle and bustle and having people all around me.
Except, I don’t. Not anymore. It seems I have changed. My fiance and I have been looking for houses for the last couple of months and talking about where we’d like to live and raise our daughter. We realized we could save a lot of money by getting a USDA loan. So we started looking at nearby smaller suburbs of Springfield, MO. Ozark, Nixa, and Republic all made our list.
We found a house in Republic. It was our dream first home! Lots of room and in a good neighborhood. We put in an offer and it was accepted the same day! Things were moving along but we hit a snag. Turns out John makes too much money for us to qualify for the USDA loan. What is so funny about this is I kept saying man I think I really want to stay in Springfield. I don’t think I will like living somewhere so much smaller and quieter. BUT by the time the news came that we COULD actually buy in Springfield…..I had visited these smaller towns a few times, and one of them had grown on me.
I started to realize you know what I don’t think I even WANT to live in the city anymore! Republic had grown on me! I visited a few times with my daughter and toured the schools. It’s so quiet. There’s lots of pretty trees and open fields. It just…
